Darshanites brought great pride to the institution by successfully participating in the prestigious CODE^SHIFT Fellowship: Equity and Data-Driven Research and Startup Garage: From Bold Ideas to Viable Ventures, conducted by professors from Syracuse University (USA) and held from October 25th to December 13th, 2025.
Two teams, each consisting of five students, actively took part in the programme. During the fellowship, they were guided through important stages of media entrepreneurship, including: idea generation and validation, early-stage prototype development, business model refinement, media bias and algorithmic unfairness, and data justice and ethical storytelling
The CODE^SHIFT Fellowship, guided by Professor Dr. Srivi Ramasubramanian of Syracuse University, equipped participants with advanced interdisciplinary perspectives, critical inquiry techniques, and creative research approaches required to become socially grounded leaders. The Startup Garage Project Masterclass, mentored by Professor Sean Branagan of Syracuse University, provided students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in turning creative ideas into early-stage media ventures.
The fellowships were offered at no cost and concluded with the successful presentation of Media Venture Prototypes and the Virtual Poster Showcase. All participants received certificates for completing this intensive programme, which gave them a valuable opportunity to explore media innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and storytelling. Ms. Rajdeep Kaur Aulakh, Principal of Darshan Academy Ludhiana, appreciated and congratulated the students for their achievement. This accomplishment reflects Darshan Academy’s commitment to providing global exposure and nurturing a spirit of innovation and excellence among its students.
